PNE TEAM

For more than four decades, Phuong Nam has shaped Vietnam’s cultural life. Now, Phuong Nam Media & Entertainment (PNME) is entering a new chapter, bringing together storytelling, technology, and a community of creative talent across film, music, publishing, and digital entertainment.
Some stories stay with us for years. A familiar line from a film, a melody we have not heard in decades, or a book rediscovered in a new format can bring an entire chapter of our lives back into focus. For generations of Vietnamese audiences, Phuong Nam has been part of those moments: in the books they read, the films they watched, the music they loved, and the bookstores they grew up visiting. Over more than 40 years, the company has helped preserve and share a wealth of cultural and artistic work, giving beloved titles a life beyond their original release and allowing new generations to discover them.

The way we experience entertainment has changed considerably. We have more choice, more immediate access, and more ways to enjoy a story, wherever we are. Yet the reasons we turn to stories remain familiar. We listen to music for a moment of calm, watch films to make sense of our own experiences, and seek out stories that offer comfort, understanding or a sense of connection. These enduring needs are at the heart of Phuong Nam’s next chapter: Phuong Nam Media & Entertainment.
A Cultural Legacy, a Foundation for the Future
PNME draws on a body of work built over more than four decades. That legacy includes more than 500 episodes of Co Tich Viet Nam (Vietnamese Folktales), a series that captivated generations of children, and memorable contributions to Vietnamese cinema such as Toi Thay Hoa Vang Tren Co Xanh (Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass) and Thien Menh Anh Hung (Blood Letter).
It also encompasses more than 8,000 audio and video recordings featuring artists and composers from different eras; over 10,000 book titles published in partnership with publishers; and a nationwide network of more than 50 Phuong Nam bookstores. For countless Vietnamese families, those stores have been places of childhood discovery and a lasting part of their reading lives.
Phuong Nam is also closely associated with the enduring music of composers Pham Duy, Vu Thanh An and Tuan Khanh. Over the years, it has supported artists early in their careers, including My Linh, My Tam, Thu Phuong, Tuan Hung, Duc Tuan and Elvis Phuong.

Together, these achievements represent more than the scale of the company’s catalogue. They reflect decades of experience in culture and entertainment, and relationships with audiences that span generations. PNME carries that experience and trust into its next phase of development.
Giving Stories More Ways to Reach Audiences
PNME is building a media and entertainment business spanning film, music, entertainment programming, audiobooks and digital gaming. The ambition goes beyond working in a wider range of formats: it is to give each story more room to grow.
A character first encountered in a book might inspire a film, a game or a new 3D animated production. A familiar song might find a new audience through a fresh interpretation. A digital series might develop into a broader body of work, with each format offering a different way into the story.
This approach places intellectual property at the centre of PNME’s creative strategy. By developing stories and creative assets across formats and platforms, the company aims to extend the life of its work while giving audiences new reasons to return.

Alongside content production, PNME is developing Talent Academy & Management and the PNME Creator Network to support emerging talent and bring together artists, writers, directors, composers, podcasters and content creators.
Talent Academy & Management aims to give young talent a starting point, connecting training with practical experience and opportunities within PNME’s productions. The PNME Creator Network will support relationships, talent management and collaboration with creators across disciplines.
More Ways to Discover, Watch and Connect
At this new chapter in Phuong Nam’s journey, technology plays an important role in developing content and bringing it to audiences. Content produced by PNME will be released across multiple platforms, while the PNME OTT platform will offer audiences an easy way to explore the full content ecosystem in one place. Films, music, podcasts, audiobooks, digital games, and entertainment programs produced by PNME will all be brought together on a single platform, making it easier for audiences to discover and enjoy a wide range of content. This is one of PNME’s key steps toward meeting the growing demand for multi-platform content in the digital era.
For audiences, PNME’s evolution will first be reflected in the variety of formats through which content is developed, and then experienced through stories that connect with daily life. Regardless of format, PNME’s content revolves around six key themes: Family & Kids, Emotional Well - being, Personal Development, Literature & Arts, Business & Investment, and Physical & Mental Health.
That might mean a welcoming entertainment space parents can choose for their children, a story that helps a young adult reflect on their life, a fresh perspective on culture and the arts, or practical knowledge for work and everyday decisions.
Beyond content production, PNME will also build communities around these six themes, giving people with shared interests a place to connect and exchange ideas. The aim is to create conversations that continue beyond the final page or closing credits, with audiences helping shape what comes next.
One of the first series in this new chapter is Chuyen Ong Ba (From Those Before Us), a collection of intimate portraits of older people and the lives they have led. The series begins with people we might pass on the street without knowing their stories: an older man or woman selling goods, earning a living, or simply going about their day in the city.

Through candid conversations, the series explores love, family, and the lessons that emerge over a lifetime. Its subjects speak of relationships that have endured, difficult years that taught them how to carry on, and the quiet importance of living honestly, keeping promises and giving what they can.
These are personal accounts, with all the complexity that comes with a life fully lived: moments of joy and loss, choices made, opportunities missed and lingering regrets.
Filmed with warmth and a close attention to everyday detail, Chuyen Ong Ba (From Those Before Us) creates a conversation between generations. Advice emerges naturally from each person’s experience, allowing viewers to find their own meaning in what they hear.
Episode 1 of Chuyen Ong Ba (From Those Before Us)
PNME hopes the series will bring generations closer, offering younger viewers perspective and reassurance drawn from lives shaped by change, hardship, and perseverance.
The first to seventh episode is now available on the Phuong Nam Media & Entertainment YouTube channel. New episodes will be released every Tuesday and Saturday at 5 p.m.
The Stories That Stay with Us
Technology will continue to change how stories are made and how we find them. What makes them stay with us is more enduring: the feeling of being understood, a thought that lingers, or a connection to someone whose life seems different from our own.
Chuyen Ong Ba (From Those Before Us) offers an early sense of the work PNME wants to create: stories grounded in everyday experience and attentive to what matters to audiences today. Films, music, audiobooks, entertainment programmes and emerging formats will each give Phuong Nam new ways to be part of their lives.
For more than 40 years, Phuong Nam has helped bring audiences stories they remember. Its next chapter begins with the people and experiences around us and the stories still waiting to be told.
